THE COMPLEXITY OF LIFE

Humans. We’re a complicated bunch.

One the one hand, we grow and achieve more in our lives with positive reinforcement. Yet on the other hand, we often find ourselves in the grip of negativity bias.

We all have stories to tell of attempts to lose weight, to go to the gym or to take up running. And of falling off the diet wagon, of not managing to get to the 7am weight class (repeatedly), of not being able to run fast enough.

And quitting.

Negativity bias can creep into our lives in many different ways. And it can play a huge part in holding us back from realising our dreams. But what if we were able to shift our focus away from these negative experiences? To not let life’s bumps in the road derail us from our health and fitness goals?

THE POWER OF POSITIVITY

It is possible to override the tendency towards negative thoughts and work on developing a growth mindset. This gives us permission to fail, to learn from these failures and to try again – instead of giving up.

Practising positivity helps you to focus on the progress you are making towards your goals (no matter how small that progress is) instead of being impatient for change – and getting despondent when it doesn’t happen overnight.

As your coach, it is my business to help you become more positively you – in both how you think and how you feel.

Whether we work together in person, online, or a combination of the two, I will be rooting for you, pushing you forward and teaching you the skills you need to eventually keep the fitness habit and positivity in your life without you needing me in it.
